Study Shows Powerful Corporations Really Do Control The World’s Finances

(Bob Yirka) For many years conventional wisdom has said that the whole world is controlled by the monied elite, or more recently by the huge multi-national corporations that seem to sometime control the very air we breathe. Now, new research by a team based in ETH-Zurich, Switzerland, has shown that what we’ve suspected all along, is apparently true. The team has uploaded their results onto the preprint server arXiv.
Using data obtained (circa 2007) from the Orbis database (a global database containing financial information on public and private companies) the team, in what is being heralded as the first of its kind, analyzed data from over 43,000 corporations, looking at both upstream and downstream connections between them all and found that when graphed, the data represented a bowtie of sorts, with the knot, or core representing just 147 entities who control nearly 40 percent of all of monetary value of transnational corporations (TNCs).
In this analysis the focus was on corporations that have ownership in their own assets as well as those of other institutions and who exert influence via ownership in second, third, fourth, etc. tier entities that hold influence over others in the web, as they call it; the interconnecting network of TNCs that together make up the whole of the largest corporations in the world. In analyzing the data they found, and then in building the network maps, the authors of the report sought to uncover the structure and control mechanisms that make up the murky world of corporate finance and ownership.

Mayor Orders Cops To Remove Citizen At Council Meeting For Stating His Name

(Infowars) Ron Paul supporter and anti-drug war activist Ronnie Reeferseed was hauled away from an Austin City Council meeting and banned for a year for stating his name in a mildly satirical manner, in yet another example of how local officials are increasingly engaging in petty power trips to oppress the free speech rights of American citizens.

The video shows Ronnie introducing himself before Mayor Lee Leffingwell snarls, “you will stop there, step back, your time is up,” and gestures for police officers to come and remove him from the podium.
Ronnie stated his satirical pseudonym in a, God forbid, mildly satirical manner, but the reaction of Leffingwell and the goons who removed him from the podium was a despicable and thuggish overreaction.
When other citizens present at the council meeting start to vocally complain about Ronnie’s treatment, Mayor Leffingwell calls for order and then threatens them, “sit down, be quiet, or you’ll be next.”
Ronnie was subsequently banned from attending Austin City Council meetings for a year for violating Leffingwell’s “rule of decorum,” by merely stating his name.
Mayor Leffingwell has led an attempt to restrict citizens’ free speech at council meetings by creating a new rule that a person can’t speak on more that three agenda items per session.
Leffingwell’s behavior is typical of the increasing trend of local officials who have forgotten that they are servants of the people and their job is to represent and hear out concerns of local residents, not boss them around.
In Quartzsite Arizona last month, Jennifer Jones was hauled away from a council meeting and arrested for criticizing Police Chief Jeff Gilbert , who later had the council declare martial law as a result of the bad publicity generated by the incident.
Also last month in Gould, Arkansas, the City Council moved to ban all gatherings and groups, no matter how small, from discussing city matters without prior permission from the authorities.
In an incident reported by Infowars this week, Republican Congressman Steve Chabot had cops grab the cameras of constituents during a town hall meeting in Cincinnati Ohio.
Watch Alex Jones’ reaction to this incident in the clip below, as well as an interview with Ronnie Reeferseed himself. Ronnie points out that the council meeting room was packed with police, indicating that they had planned to haul him out ahead of time.

Big Brother Bloomberg Pushes For Traffic Light Cameras On Every Corner

(ERIN EINHORn) Mayor Bloomberg wants to blanket the city with red light cameras – and maybe even publish the names of scofflaws who blow through intersections.

“I think we should have ‘em on every corner if we could,” the mayor said of the controversial cameras that trigger tickets to drivers caught running red lights.

“If people didn’t go through red lights, you’d save a lot of lives of elderly and kids,” Hizzoner told reporters Monday during a press conference.

Bloomberg was responding to a Daily News report on the $52 million in fines the city issued last year to drivers caught by cameras – really a $55 million haul with penalties included.

Bloomberg wants Albany to increase the number of cameras permitted on city streets to 225, up from the current 150.

A bill to hike the number of cameras passed the state Senate in June, but stalled in the Democratic-controlled Assembly.

The city is allowed to put up as many cameras as it wants but needs state approval to fine drivers for the related infractions.

The mayor mused that the city could put up the cameras – then try to embarrass the rule-breakers.

“Maybe what we should do is do it and start publishing in the paper who does it and then a list of the senators and assemblymen who keep us from having cameras [that can levy fines],” the mayor suggested.

“Every time there’s somebody hit, it would be nice to say ‘Ok, assemblyman and senator so-and-so didn’t think that person’s life [was important] … This is our lives of our people we’re talking about! This is not something cute and we’ve got to do something about it.”

Bloomberg said he would also support speed cameras to catch drivers going too fast – a proposal that’s the subject of an Assembly bill but has not yet been introduced in the Senate.

“We cannot afford to put a cop on every corner,” Bloomberg said. “We’re going to have to do more with technology.”

Ron Paul: “They’re Setting The Stage For Violence In This Country”

(Paul Joseph Watson) In a response to a question asked by Infowars correspondent Robert Wanek at Iowa State University during the recent Ames straw poll, Ron Paul said that the federal government was preparing for civil unrest and martial law in the United States.

Paul was asked for his opinion on whether H.R. 645 (The National Emergency Centers Establishment Act) could lead to Americans being incarcerated in detention camps during a time of martial law.
“Yeah, that’s their goal, they’re setting up the stage for violence in this country, no doubt about it,” responded Paul.
The National Emergency Centers Act or HR 645, first introduced in January 2009, mandates the establishment of “national emergency centers” to be located on military installations for the purpose of providing “temporary housing, medical, and humanitarian assistance to individuals and families dislocated due to an emergency or major disaster,” according to the bill.
The legislation also states that the camps will be used to “provide centralized locations to improve the coordination of preparedness, response, and recovery efforts of government, private, and not-for-profit entities and faith-based organizations”.
Ominously, the bill also states that the camps can be used to “meet other appropriate needs, as determined by the Secretary of Homeland Security,” an open ended mandate which many fear could mean the forced detention of American citizens in the event of widespread rioting after a national emergency or total economic collapse.
The legislation was referred to Committee and did not proceed any further, but it was not rejected in a vote and can be re-introduced at any time in a new session of Congress.
As we reported yesterday, in the aftermath of the UK riots, police departments in the United States are being trained to deal with rioting and civil unrest.
Back in 2008, U.S. troops returning from Iraq were earmarked for “homeland patrols” with one of their roles including helping with “civil unrest and crowd control”.
In December 2008, the Washington Post reported on plans to station 20,000 more U.S. troops inside America for purposes of “domestic security” from September 2011 onwards, an expansion of Northcom’s militarization of the country in preparation for potential civil unrest following a total economic collapse or a mass terror attack.
The United States has continuity of government plans in place should martial law be declared by the President. However, the details of those plans have been so tightly guarded that even Congressman and Homeland Security Committee member Peter DeFazio (D – OR), who has the necessary security clearance, was denied access to view the material when he requested to do so back in July 2007.
“I just can’t believe they’re going to deny a member of Congress the right of reviewing how they plan to conduct the government of the United States after a significant terrorist attack,” DeFazio told the Oregonian at the time, adding, “Maybe the people who think there’s a conspiracy out there are right.”
Congressman Paul has warned about preparations for martial law before, telling the Alex Jones Show, “They’re putting their back up against the wall and saying, if need be we’re going to have martial law.”
Watch Alex Jones’ special comment on this issue below.

Scientists Alter Chicken DNA To Create Embryo With ‘Alligator-Like’ Snout

(Daily Mail) Experts changed the DNA of chicken embryos in the early stage of their development, enabling them to undo evolutionary progress and give the creatures snouts which are thought to have been lost in the cretaceous period millions of years ago.

The scientific revelation of ‘rewinding’ evolution could pave the way for scientists altering DNA in the other direction and use the same process to create species better able to adapt to Earth’s climate.
Rewind evolution: The research changed the DNA of a chicken egg so the embryo developed an alligator-like snout

It has also been claimed that the breakthrough could eventually help eliminate birth defects in human children.

Arkhat Abzhanov, an evolutionary biologist at Harvard University, developed the chickens with snouts by cutting a square hole in the shell of a chicken egg and dropping in a small gelatinous protein bead before watching the embryo develop.

The changes allowed separate molecules on the side of the face free to grow into snouts within 14 days.
Although ethical rules prevent the eggs from bring hatched, Dr Abzhanov said he hopes to complete the work one day by turning chickens into Maniraptora.

Dr Abzhanov made the changes by analysing the ‘signalling molecules’ which control the anatomical changes in birds and other animals.

Adding protein beads to the egg which stifle the development of certain molecules also prevents the birds from growing certain features.

The revolutionary work by biologist Dr Arkhat Abzhanov could help prevent birth defects in human children

Maniraptora are small dinosaurs which it is thought spawned thousands of species of birds which exist today.

Chickens and other birds are thought to have descended from dinosaurs through a series of genetic changes.

By altering the DNA of chickens to resemble alligator genes before the beak developed, Dr Abzhanov was able to change the evolutionary path of chickens so that they grew snouts instead.

Dr Abzhanov told the New Scientist: ‘It looks exactly like a snout looks in an alligator [at this stage].’

Jack Horner, a leading paleontologist based at the University of Montana, is conducting similar work in an attempt to make a ‘chickenosaurus’ with a tail and hands similar to those of a dinosaur.

Craig Albertson, a developmental biologist at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, said: ‘Abzhanov’s ‘snouted’ chicken provides a striking demonstration of just how easy it can be to provoke major evolutionary changes.

Video-The Stock Market Is Owned By The Govt

The truth has been so twisted and turned that our belief system in America has become our biggest enemy.

We believe that the stock market is an independent structure, operating within government guidelines… But when we open up government’s Institutional Fund and Pension Fund investment portfolios and asset listings, we can easily find that the stock market is owned through stock investment by government funds.

Here, for example, is what just the New York Pension system holds:

. Shares $ Market Value

NYSE Euronext 1,044,464 18,695,906
NASDAQ OMX Group Inc 539,840 10,570,067

How about the Dow Jones?

Dow Jones 201,002 7,899,379

And most importantly, the rating companies:

Moody’s Corp 1,001,702 71,581,625
Barclays plc 2,558,517 29,889,010

The moral of the story is that while we listen to the government owned media report to us that the government owned stock market is taking a nosedive because the government owned rating companies have downgraded the government owned economy of the United States, we actually believe the lie!

And that is just sad…

(Clint Richardson) A puppet show of this magnitude needs to be torn apart and examined to its core, and that is why I spent 8 months collecting this information into a movie:

The Great Pension Fund Hoax:

01:14:00 – 01:18:00 Government owns China and the Oil Companies

01:42:00 – 01:57:00 – Government owns the media, Diebold, Monsanto, General Electric, etc…

02:27:00 – 02:42:00 – Government owns the banks and rating agencies

Every Hour Of T.V. Takes 22 Minutes Off Your Life

(Jenny Hope) Every hour spent watching TV, DVDs and videos as an adult reduces life expectancy by almost 22 minutes, a study suggests.
And viewing TV for an average of six hours a day can cut short your life by five years.
The research claims that a sedentary lifestyle is as bad for health as smoking and obesity, because of the dangers posed by inactivity and the greater opportunities it offers for unhealthy eating.

Warning: Experts have suggested that every hour of watching TV shortens life expectancy by 22 minutes
The academics conducting the study set out to calculate the overall risk to life expectancy from watching television. Their research involved more than 11,000 people over the age of 25.
Writing in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, they concluded: ‘TV viewing time may be associated with a loss of life that is comparable to other major chronic disease risk factors such as physical inactivity and obesity.’
This finding is also comparable to risk factors such as smoking, with other research showing that one cigarette cuts 11 minutes off a lifespan – equivalent to half an hour of watching TV.

Just 15 minutes of exercise a day ‘increases your life expectancy by THREE YEARS’
How fatty food triggers diabetes: Scientists believe discovery paves way for Type 2 ‘cure’
Smoking is a bigger risk to women who are 25% more likely to get heart disease than men
The researchers, from the University of Queensland, used information from the Australian Diabetes, Obesity and Lifestyle Study, together with population and death rate data.
But they said: ‘While we used Australian data, the effects in other industrialised and developing countries are likely to be comparable, given the typically large amounts of time spent watching TV and similarities in disease patterns.’ In the UK, the average amount of time spent watching TV is four hours a day compared with five hours in the United States.

Chief Medical Officer Sally Davies said the study confirms existing knowledge that a ‘sedentary lifestyle’ carries additional risks
Researchers from the Harvard School of Public Health, Boston, said it was ‘biologically plausible’ that prolonged TV viewing results in disease and premature death. Other work suggests that sedentary behaviour is linked to obesity, high levels of bad blood fats and other heart disease risk factors, and more opportunities for grazing on junk foods.
Earlier this year, a separate study suggested the risk of developing type 2 diabetes and heart disease, or dying prematurely, rises by as much as 20 per cent after just two hours a day in front of the box.
England’s Chief Medical Officer, Sally Davies, said: ‘Physical activity offers huge benefits and these studies back what we already know – that a sedentary lifestyle carries additional risks. We hope these studies will help more people realise that there are many ways to get exercise.’
Another study shows that exercising for just 15 minutes a day can increase your lifespan by up to three years.
It can reduce the risk of early death by 14 per cent, with each extra 15 minutes reducing all-cause death rates by 4 per cent.
Exercise also protects against cancer, although the benefits peak at 100 minutes a day, says the study in The Lancet medical journal.
It involved more than 400,000 adults taking part in a medical screening programme in Taiwan, whose progress was followed between 1996 and 2008.
The experts found that if individuals engaged in low-volume daily exercise, one in six all-cause deaths could be postponed.

10 New Ways That The Government Will Be Spying On You

(American Dream) Are you ready for Big Brother 2.0? If you think that the hundreds of ways that the government watches, monitors, tracks and controls us now are bad, just wait until you see what is coming. We live in an age when paranoia is running wild. As technology continues to develop at an exponential pace, governments all over the globe are going to discover a multitude of new ways to spy on us and control our behavior. In a world where everyone is a “potential terrorist”, we are told that things like liberty, freedom and privacy are “luxuries” that we can no longer afford. We are assured that if we just allow the government to watch all of us and investigate all of us that somehow that will keep us all safe. But it isn’t just the government that is watching us. Now we are being taught to spy on one another and to report any trace of “suspicious activity” to the government immediately. The entire civilized world is being transformed into one giant prison grid, and many of the new technologies that are now being introduced are going to make things even worse.

The following are 10 new ways that the government will be spying on you and controlling your behavior….

#1 Are you ready for “electronic skin tattoos”? One team of researchers has created an extremely thin, extremely flexible “smart skin” that will open up a whole new world of possibilities. Wearing “skin-mounted electronics” might seem like a great idea to tech geeks, but it also could create a whole lot of new problems. The following is how an article in one UK newspaper described this new breakthrough….

The “epidermal electronic system” relies on a highly flexible electrical circuit composed of snake-like conducting channels that can bend and stretch without affecting performance. The circuit is about the size of a postage stamp, is thinner than a human hair and sticks to the skin by natural electrostatic forces rather than glue.

Yes, this kind of technology would be a great way to connect wirelessly to the Internet and it would be helpful for doctors that need to monitor their patients, but the potential for abuse is also there.

Once this type of technology becomes widespread, governments will be able to monitor the location and activities of their citizens like never before.

In addition, this type of technology could one day become mandated by governments. For example, someday you may be required to have an “electronic skin tatoo” in order to prove your identity or to participate in commerce.

Also, it is not too far of a stretch to imagine that “skin-mounted electronics” could be used to control large populations. Just remember, if you connect yourself physically to the Internet, that also means that the Internet is connected to you.

#2 According to a shocking document obtained by Oath Keepers, the FBI is now instructing store owners to report many new forms of “suspicious activity” to them. According to the document, “suspicious activity” now includes….

-paying with cash

-missing a hand or fingers

-”strange odors”

-making “extreme religious statements”

-”radical theology”

-purchasing weatherproofed ammunition or match containers

-purchasing meals ready to eat

-purchasing night vision devices, night flashlights or gas masks

According to WorldNetDaily, this document is part of a “series of brochures” that will be distributed “to farm supply stores, gun shops, military surplus stores and even hotels and motels.”

#3 The U.S. military has developed an invisible “pain ray” that is remarkably effective. The following is how a recent article posted on Alternet described this weapon….

It sounds like a weapon out of Star Wars. The Active Denial System, or ADS, works like an open-air microwave oven, projecting a focused beam of electromagnetic radiation to heat the skin of its targets to 130 degrees. This creates an intolerable burning sensation forcing those in its path to instinctively flee (a response the Air Force dubs the “goodbye effect”).

Sadly, this weapon is already being used in American prisons. How long will it be before it is used on the general population?

#4 Be careful about what you put up on Facebook or Twitter. Law enforcement agencies all over the globe are now focusing on social media as never before. For example, the NYPD has just created a special “social media” unit dedicated to looking for criminals on Facebook and Twitter.

#5 Facial recognition technology has now come of age. With the millions of security cameras that are going up all over the world, such technology is proving to be very useful for law enforcement authorities. In fact, police in London are using it to track down people that were involved in the London riots. The following is an excerpt from a recent CBC report that described these efforts….

Facial recognition technology being considered for London’s 2012 Games is getting a workout in the wake of Britain’s riots, with officers feeding photographs of suspects through Scotland Yard’s newly updated face-matching program.

Facial recognition technology is rapidly going to become part of our everyday lives. In fact, now even Facebook is using it. Eventually it is going to become very difficult to avoid the reach of this technology.

#6 “Smart meters” are going into homes all over North America and Europe. These smart meters monitor your home every single minute of every single day and they transmit very sophisticated data about your personal behavior back to the utility company.

They are already being used by police all over the United States in drug cases. If a smart meter catches you using an “unusual” amount of energy there is a good chance that your home will be raided.

The European Parliament has set a goal of having smart meters in the homes of 80 percent of all electricity consumers by the year 2020, and Barack Obama is working very hard to get them into as many American homes as he can.

#7 Our children are being trained to accept being under surveillance almost constantly. For example, the U.S. Department of Agriculture is spending huge amounts of money to install surveillance cameras in the cafeterias of U.S. public schools so that government control freaks can closely monitor what our children are eating.

#8 Perhaps you thought that only Tom Cruise had to worry about “pre-crime”. Well, now “pre-crime” is popping up in the real world too. The Florida State Department of Juvenile Justice has announced that it will begin using analysis software to predict crime by young delinquents and will place “potential offenders” in specific prevention and education programs.

#9 According to the ACLU, state police in Michigan are now using “extraction devices” to download data from the cellphones of motorists that they pull over. This is taking place even if those pulled over are not accused of doing anything wrong.

The following is how an article on CNET News described the capabilities of these “extraction devices”….

The devices, sold by a company called Cellebrite, can download text messages, photos, video, and even GPS data from most brands of cell phones. The handheld machines have various interfaces to work with different models and can even bypass security passwords and access some information.

#10 LRAD sound cannons are already been used by law enforcement authorities to disperse large crowds inside the United States. So how much “damage” can sound do? Well, it turns out that sound can actually do a whole lot of damage. The following is how Alternet describes these cruel weapons….

The Long Range Acoustic Device, or LRAD, built by American Technology Corporation, focuses and broadcasts sound over ranges of up to hundreds of yards. LRAD has been around for years, but Americans first took notice when police used it in Pittsburgh to ward off protesters at the 2009 G-20 summit. It is generally used in two ways: as a megaphone to order protesters to disperse; or, if they disobey, as an “ear-splitting siren” to drive them away. While LRAD may not be deadly, it can permanently damage hearing, depending on how it’s used.

LRAD sound cannons do not discriminate. When they are being used to disperse protesters, any innocent bystanders in the area will be affected as well. If anyone gets too close to an LRAD sound cannon while it is in use, permanent damage can result. Small children and the elderly are particularly vulnerable. Sadly, the use of LRAD sound cannons is becoming more common. In fact, they have even been used to break up college block parties.

So is this the kind of world that you want to live in?

Do you want your children and grandchildren to live in a world where liberty and freedom are all but forgotten?

This world is headed toward a very dark place. These “Big Brother” technologies are going to become even more pervasive and even more oppressive. If this trend is not stopped now, someday these technologies will get into some very evil hands, and then all hell will be unleashed.

21 Books The Ruling Elite Doesn’t Want You To Read

(Rick Gedeon) The sole purpose of COINTELPRO was to destroy individuals and groups perceived as threats to the status quo in the United States. COINTELPRO was “officially” ended in 1971—although it never really ended. After the 911 attacks, the government went at it again, but this time with a scared and more dumbed-down complicit public. Exactly forty-six days after the towers came crumbing down Bush signed the USA Patriot Act. This virtually eliminated restrictions on law enforcement agencies’ ability to search telephone, e-mail communications, medical, financial, and other records. What we used to consider illegal eavesdropping is now reclassified as something else — an emergency. According to an official DOJ report, the use of “emergency”, warrantless requests to ISPs for customer communications content has skyrocketed over 400% in a single year. No outrage, no accountability. The majority of people are now more concerned about how to feed their families; civil liberties will just have to take a back seat until things improve.

The inequality and oppression in America now resembles that of a third world oligarchy. The only purpose of an oligarchy is to perpetuate oligarchic rule. Hence, “change” is not a choice, lest the rulers might be held to account for their crimes. Upward mobility is no longer attainable; the days of “hard work and dedication bringing success” are over. It would be a slap in the face to say that to the more than “317,000 waiters and waitresses (over 8,000 of which have a doctoral or professional degree), along with over 80,000 bartenders, and over 18,000 parking lot attendants” Americans who graduated from college. The cancer of nepotism and cronyism are the order of the day. It is mathematically impossible to hold a job while paying for exorbitant college tuition, unless of course you come from the fast-shrinking upper-middle class.

The majority of voters voted for Obama in 2008 because they wanted change. The word “change” did resonate in the hearts of Americans, but, unfortunately, the people were once again bamboozled. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. Voting appears to be the least viable solution; the more productive path is to organize locally. The following list of books contains sources not often cited by mainstream media . . . and there is a reason for that. These books promote critical thinking, revisit the coverups of history, and promote individual empowerment. They should be read widely in order to raise awareness of the situation facing America today, so that we can take back what has been taken from us.

The descriptions of each book are generally sourced from their product sales points, and have been edited for brevity. In some cases where official product descriptions were not available, a summary of important points is offered. Each title is an embedded link where the book can be purchased.

These are the books that have been most instrumental in my research. I would love to learn what books you have found to be most helpful. Please share your thoughts and suggestions with others in the comments section below.

21. Propaganda, Edward Bernays
Media control and propaganda is how the rest of what is contained in the books that follows is ever made possible. Without belief in the orchestrated events of history, the tactics employed by the ruling elite could never work. This is an essential place to start to learn how human perception is altered so that a false reality can be created and accepted. Or, as Bernays himself said, “The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country.”

20. Big Brother: The Orwellian Nightmare Come True, Mark Dice
High-tech spy gadgets, mind-reading machines, emerging artificial intelligence systems, and government projects seem as if they came right out of George Orwell’s novel Nineteen Eighty-Four. Mark Dice illustrates how what was once considered fiction has now become reality. Dice shows you the scary documentation that Big Brother is watching you, and is more powerful than you could imagine. Learn about mind reading machines, cybernetic organisms, neural interfaces, and more.

19. What I Saw That Day Israel’s June 8 1967 Holocaust of US Servicemen Aboard the USS LIBERTY and its Aftermath, Phillip Tourney
Personal eyewitness testimony of Phil Tourney, US Navy Petty Officer concerning Israel’s 2 hour attack upon his ship USS LIBERTY on June 8, 1967 and the following cover-up by the US government.

18. The County Sheriff: America’s Last Hope, Sheriff Richard Mack
Sheriff Mack’s latest book covers decades of research to prove once and for all that the sheriffs in this country are indeed the ultimate law authority in their respective jurisdictions. The sheriff absolutely has the power and responsiblity to defend his citizens against all enemies, including those from our own Federal Government.

17. Corporatism: The Secret Government of the New World Order, Jeffrey Grupp
Corporations control all basic resources of the world, all the governments and institutions, and prevent us from solving humanity’s problems. Their New World Order plan is the global ‘prison planet’ that Hitler was aiming for.

16. Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, John Perkins
An extraordinary and gripping tale of intrigue and dark machinations. Perkins writes about the Enron-style of cooking the books to convince foreign governments to accept billions of dollars of loans from the World Bank and other institutions to build dams, airports, electric grids, and other infrastructure he knew they couldn’t afford. The loans were given on condition that construction and engineering contracts went to U.S. companies.

15. JFK: The CIA, Vietnam, and the Plot to Assassinate John F. Kennedy (Second Edition), L. Fletcher Prouty
Colonel L. Fletcher Prouty, the former CIA operative known as ‘X,’ offers a history-shaking perspective on the assassination of president John F. Kennedy. His theories were the basis for Oliver Stone’s controversial movie JFK. Prouty believed that Kennedy’s death was a coup d’etat, and he backs this belief up with his knowledge of the security arrangements at Dallas and other tidbits that only a CIA insider would know.

14. Where Did the Towers Go? Evidence of Directed Free-energy Technology on 9/11, Judy Wood and Eric Larsen
This book is a forensic analysis of what effectively is a crime scene. Ground Zero and the surrounding areas were photographed countless thousands of times, yet no one really assessed all of the phenomena found in these photographs. What is presented in this book is not a theory and it is not speculation. It is evidence. It is the body of empirical evidence that must be explained in order to determine what happened at Ground Zero.

13. Tragedy and Hope, Carroll Quigley
1,359 pages of details about how the New World Order really works. A confession from one of the architects of the power elite and the structures they use to divide and conquer the planet.

12. None Dare Call it Conspiracy, Gary Allen
This is the counterpart to Quigley’s tome. At just 197 pages, Gary Allen distills the machinations of the political, banking, and elite think tanks into the most concise book ever written about how it is possible for a small group of puppet masters to direct world events and control entire populations.

11. American Assassination: The Strange Death of Senator Paul Wellstone, James H. Fetzer
Senator Paul Wellstone was, “the first 1960s radical elected to the U.S. Senate.” In Senate Race 2002, the White House made defeating Wellstone priority #1. Karl Rove hand-picked arch Republican Norm Coleman to run against him. Despite massive funding, Coleman was trailing the popular Wellstone two weeks before election day. Then, tragedy struck. Ph.D. Professors James Fetzer and Don “Four Arrows” Jacobs present the harrowing truth. The weather didn’t bring down Senator Wellstone’s plane.

10. New Complete Book of Self-Sufficiency, John Seymour
Packed with comprehensive information on all the practicals, from ploughing fields to milking cows, as well as new information on how to create an urban organic garden and harness natural energy. This full-colour edition of the illustrated classic is an engrossing read and a wonderful handbook for realists and dreamers alike.

9. Human Race Get Off Your Knees, David Icke
The manipulation of the human race and the nature of reality are continually taken to the highest levels by David Icke. Very few researchers are willing to walk the paths David has. In this book, he brings back even more new startling information about the destiny of mankind.

8. The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions And Distortions, David Ray Griffin
Everyone who cares about the fate of American democracy will want to know something about what the pages of the report actually say. The Commission’s account, by popular reckoning, has made an impression with its heft, its footnotes, its portrayal of the confusion of that sobering day, its detail, its narrative finesse. Yet under the magnifying glass of David Ray Griffin, eminent theologian and author of The New Pearl Harbor, the report appears much shabbier. In fact, there are holes in the places where detail ought to be thickest. Griffin’s critique of the Kean-Zelikow report makes clear that our nation’s highest leaders have told tales that wear extremely thin when held up to the light of other eyewitness reports, research, and the dictates of common sense.

7. 63 Documents the Government Doesn’t Want You to Read, Jesse Ventura
The official spin on numerous government programs is flat-out bullsh*t, according to Jesse Ventura. Ventura proves it beyond any doubt with this incredible collection of actual government documents, including previously classified papers that were brought into the public domain by WikiLeaks. He scours through this treasure trove of documents to bring to light how we’ve been duped into wars we shouldn’t be fighting, lied to about intelligence, fed hogwash about terrorism, and tricked into losing more and more of our civil liberties. In addition to providing original government data, Ventura explains what it really means.

6. Stranger Than Fiction, Albert D. Pastore
The true story behind 9-11, delivered by a meticulous researcher. . . “Every news story about 9-11 that is contained in this book is true and easily verifiable,” states author, Dr. Albert D. Pastore [a penname]. “My investigation represents 12 months of careful study, painstaking research, detailed analysis, source verification and logical deduction.

5. 9/11 Synthetic Terror: Made in USA, First Edition, Webster Griffin Tarpley
The thesis of Webster Tarpley’s book has been enthusiastically received with its working model of the 9/11 plot – a rogue network of moles, patsies, and a commando cell in the privatised intelligence services, backed by corrupt political and corporate media elites. Buttressed by historical examples like the Baader-Meinhof Gang and the Gunpowder Plot, this model makes it clear how such a monstrous false-flag or self-terror exploit is possible even under a largely benign government.

4. Snitch Culture: How Citizens are Turned into the Eyes and Ears of the State, Jim Redden
In this alarming exposé, investigative journalist Jim Redden examines how snooping has become so much a part of American culture that it is practically a family value, encouraged on billboards, television, and even in classrooms. From employees hired to spy on their coworkers to doctors forced to disclose medical information, the U.S. has developed a chilling network for monitoring its citizens. Worst of all, the information gathered – and widely disseminated – is often unreliable, solicited from paid and anonymous informants. This book was written in 2000 and is even more disturbing to witness in hindsight all that has come to pass both domestically and abroad as the War on Terror has been given carte blanche to use any means necessary to expand the power of the State. A citizen spy network is the hallmark of tyranny and Redden’s book concisely presents its evolution even within democratic countries.

3. The Creature from Jekyll Island : A Second Look at the Federal Reserve, G. Edward Griffin
This is the classic exposé of the Fed that has become one of the best-selling books in its category of all time. Where does money come from? Where does it go? Who makes it? The money magician’s secrets are unveiled. Here is a close look at their mirrors and smoke machines, the pulleys, cogs, and wheels that create the grand illusion called money. A boring subject? Just wait. You’ll be hooked in five minutes. It reads like a detective story – which it really is, but it’s all true. This book is about the most blatant scam of history. It’s all here: the cause of wars, boom-bust cycles, inflation, depression, prosperity. Your world view will definitely change. Putting it quite simply, this may be the most important book on world affairs you will ever read.

2. War at Home: Covert action against U.S. activists and what we can do about it, Brian Glick
This book was written in 1989 is provides thorough coverage and analysis of the FBI’s COINTELPRO program which targeted political activists. Beyond the program itself is the cultural analysis which is more important than ever, as COINTELPRO 2.0 has been launched in the wake of the War on Terror. The methods used abroad in counterintelligence have come home to roost. The plan for what activists can do to protect themselves is more valuable than ever.

1. Winter Soldier: Iraq and Afghanistan: Eyewitness Accounts of the Occupations
Iraq Veterans Against the War
“The only way this war is going to end is if the American people truly understand what we have done in their name.”—Kelly Dougherty, executive director of Iraq Veterans Against the War. In spring 2008, inspired by the Vietnam-era Winter Soldier hearings, Iraq Veterans Against the War gathered veterans to expose war crimes in Afghanistan and Iraq. Here are the powerful words, images, and documents of this historic gathering, which show the reality of life in Afghanistan and Iraq. Iraq Veterans Against the War argues that well-publicized incidents of American brutality like the Abu Ghraib prison scandal and the massacre of an entire family of Iraqis in the town of Haditha are not the isolated incidents perpetrated by “a few bad apples,” as many politicians and military leaders have claimed. They are part of a pattern, the group says, of “an increasingly bloody occupation.” If we are ever to restore sanity to our foreign policy, we must have all of the facts. Empire America is bankrupting its citizens and leaving a legacy of shame. This is the single most important book in stripping away the naive and innocent version of war that the mainstream media fosters at the behest of the American government.
