[8/15/16] Senator Claire McCaskill told Fox News on Sunday it is not Obama and Clinton who are responsible for the presence of the Islamic State in Syria, but presidential candidate Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In addition to calling Trumps remark’s “disrespectful to the military that is out there fighting ISIS every day,” McCaskill said she believes it is “important to realize that [Syrian President Bashar al] Assad, by what he did in his country, allowed ISIS to move into Syria and get strongholds and recruit. That was the work and support of [Russian President Vladimir] Putin, who is Trump’s best buddy. So you can say Trump and his friend Putin are the founder of ISIS.”
McCaskill should know better. Prior to the series of color revolutions known as the Arab Spring, Syria did not have a serious problem with Islamic fanatics.
